Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has accused House of Representatives member Leke Abejide of attempting to create a leadership crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Melaye, in a post shared on his Facebook page, insisted that Abejide—who represents Yagba East/Yagba West/Mopamuro Federal Constituency—has been expelled by the party’s National Working Committee and no longer has any legitimate ties to the ADC.
He stated that Abejide’s recent actions are irresponsible and embarrassing to the party.
Melaye said, “Let me make it clear: there is no faction in the ADC. Leke Abejide has been suspended and expelled by the highest decision-making body of the party. He is no longer a member of the ADC.”
He accused the lawmaker of consistently misrepresenting facts and acting in ways that undermine the integrity of the Okun people, noting that the constituency has historically produced distinguished figures in the National Assembly.
He added, “It is disappointing that after respected Okun representatives like Shola Ojo, Duro Meseko, and myself served in the House of Representatives, we now have someone whose conduct falls far below the standards our people are known for.
“On behalf of the people of Okun land, we regret the embarrassment his actions have caused.”
