Fulham are intensifying efforts to secure the signing of Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb, with negotiations reportedly moving closer to a resolution.
Sources told BBC Sport that Marco Silva’s side are nearing an agreement for the 22-year-old, who has struggled for playing time at the Etihad Stadium following City’s January acquisition of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth.
Bobb’s future has been the subject of recent speculation, with City manager Pep Guardiola acknowledging the discussions after his team’s weekend victory over Wolves.
“I know there are rumours, I know there are talks,” Guardiola said. “But I don’t know right now.”
When asked if the Norway international was open to leaving the club, Guardiola added: “I think so.”
This season, Bobb has made 15 appearances in all competitions for Manchester City but is yet to score. His campaign was disrupted in December when he suffered an injury against Brentford in the Carabao Cup, exiting the match within the first 20 minutes. That fixture on 17 December remains his most recent outing for the champions.
While Borussia Dortmund have reportedly expressed interest, Fulham appear to be in the strongest position, with Silva keen to strengthen his attacking options as the West London club aim for a strong finish to the season.
The Cottagers have been in excellent form, losing just once in their last seven Premier League games. Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Brighton lifted Fulham to seventh place, reinforcing optimism at Craven Cottage that European qualification is achievable.
A move to Fulham would reunite Bobb with fellow Norwegian Sander Berge, providing a familiar presence as he looks to regain momentum following an injury-hit period.
On the international stage, Bobb has maintained a more consistent run, featuring six times for Norway this year and contributing to their qualification for this summer’s World Cup.
Bobb’s progress has, however, been hampered by injury setbacks. He missed nearly the entirety of last season after fracturing a bone in his leg during training in August 2024, delaying what had been a promising rise at Manchester City.
Fulham’s transfer plans extend beyond Bobb. The club has also submitted a £28 million bid for PSV Eindhoven forward Ricardo Pepi, highlighting Silva’s determination to strengthen the squad as the campaign enters its crucial stages.
