Popular content creator Iniobong Esther Louis, widely known as Sunshine, has been laid to rest in Lagos.

Reports indicate that Sunshine, aged 34, passed away on January 9, 2026, following complications from a fibroid surgery that began in December 2025.

According to her friend Chidera Madu, Sunshine, who was from Nnung Udoe Itak in Ikono Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, was first admitted to Orchid General Hospital. However, due to a nationwide doctors’ strike, she reportedly received only pain relief without a full diagnosis, prompting a transfer to another facility on January 2 for proper medical attention.

Following her untimely death, friends and family appealed to the public for financial assistance to ensure Sunshine received a dignified burial.

The burial proceedings began at Lagos Island General Hospital in Marina on Wednesday, before her remains were transported to Atan Cemetery in Yaba for interment.

Family, friends, and colleagues gathered to pay their final respects to the late skit maker, marking a solemn farewell to the content creator whose life touched many.
