Chelsea youngster Tyrique George has confirmed that he is eligible to represent both Nigeria and Ghana at senior international level, offering insight into his background while discussing his football journey and life away from the pitch.
The 19-year-old attacker, who completed a loan move from Chelsea to Everton on the January transfer deadline day for the rest of the season, shared the details during an introductory feature on Everton’s official media channels.
While introducing himself, George explained that he was born in Camden, London, and revealed his mixed heritage, noting that his mother is Ghanaian while his father is Nigerian. This background makes him eligible to play for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Ghana’s Black Stars and England’s Three Lions.
Although he has already featured for England at youth level, George confirmed that his international pathway has spanned several age groups, stating that he has represented England from the under-15 level through to the under-21s.
On the pitch, the versatile forward described himself as a flexible attacking option, capable of operating across different positions in the frontline. He explained that he is comfortable using both feet and can play on either wing, in attacking midfield or as a striker.
George also spoke about the players who inspired him growing up, naming Neymar and Jadon Sancho as key influences who helped shape his style and creativity.
Reflecting on his club experiences, the winger highlighted the high-level exposure he has already gained at Chelsea, including appearances in the Champions League, Europa Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Away from football, George shared a glimpse of his personal life, saying he enjoys watching movies and spending quality time with his family when he is not focused on the game.
