Super Eagles striker Akor Adams has expressed joy after scoring on his debut for Nigeria in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, describing the experience as a dream come true.
The Sevilla forward came off the bench in the 63rd minute of the match against Lesotho, replacing Tolu Arokodare, and made an instant impact just 17 minutes later — calmly slotting home after connecting with a brilliant pass from Victor Osimhen.
Following the game, Adams took to Instagram to share an emotional post reflecting on his journey and the influence Osimhen had during a difficult time in his career.
“Some life scripts are handwritten by God Himself! Thank you @victorosimhen9. I am living a dream!!!”
The 24-year-old recalled how Osimhen offered him encouragement and guidance when he struggled for form while playing for Norwegian side Sogndal, shortly after the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Adams also revealed a private message he once sent to Osimhen seeking advice, and how the response lifted his spirits.
According to Gossip News Now, Adams started again in Nigeria’s 4-0 victory over the Benin Republic on Tuesday, a result that sealed the Super Eagles’ place in the World Cup play-offs.
From his humble beginnings and challenges in Norway to now competing in La Liga with Sevilla, Adams’ rise has been defined by perseverance, faith, and determination.
With his first international goal under his belt, the young forward appears poised to play a key role as Nigeria continues its push toward qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
