Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, widely known as Baba Ijesha, has regained his freedom after spending more than three years in prison over allegations of sexual assault.

Gossip News Now reports that the actor was released on Friday, November 14, 2025, following a Court of Appeal decision that overturned his previous conviction.

Announcing the development, fellow actor Yomi Fabiyi shared on Instagram that Baba Ijesha had been “officially freed” after the appellate court nullified the earlier judgment against him.

In his post, Fabiyi wrote, “You are now officially FREE AND OUT. Baba Ijesha is back and stronger than ever. I am also relieved that the APPEAL COURT cleared him of ever engaging in sexual activity with or defiling any child. This 7-year-old story was nothing but a charade. Sadly, we live in a world where emotion and malice sometimes outweigh law and truth.”

Fabiyi further outlined several points regarding the case:

  1. He claimed that those who “set the trap” engaged in falsifying the alleged victim’s age, as no evidence was presented to confirm the girl was 14 years old, suggesting the allegations were weaponized for personal vendettas.
  2. He noted that Damola Adekola, a neighbor and ally of Princess Comedian who allegedly abused the girl from 2020, remains free. Fabiyi highlighted the inconsistency of the justice system, as Adekola was allegedly involved in the same case yet was allowed to walk free.
  3. He accused Princess Comedian of grooming the girl for sexual activity and highlighted that sperm found days after Baba Ijesha’s arrest was not linked to him, implying negligence on her part.
  4. Fabiyi also alleged that Princess Comedian engaged in child pornography by recording her foster daughter on the same day Baba Ijesha was invited to perform.
  5. He claimed that the alleged actions caused re-traumatization, potentially subjecting the girl to PTSD, due to Princess Comedian’s handling of the evidence and her reliance on the child for support.
  6. Additional concerns were raised regarding selective justice and abuse of legal procedures.

Fabiyi concluded by reaffirming that as a Human Rights advocate, he condemns all forms of sexual abuse and will continue to fight against injustices that violate fundamental rights, particularly in organized cases like that of Baba Ijesha.

He added, “The actions taken by Princess Comedian were flawed and lacked legal basis. True justice was not served in this matter.”
