Renowned music producer Don Jazzy has expressed deep concern over the escalating insecurity in Nigeria, calling on President Bola Tinubu to demand stronger results from the nation’s security chiefs.
The Mavin Records boss shared his thoughts on 𝕏 on Wednesday, following President Tinubu’s announcement that his planned trips to Johannesburg, South Africa, and Luanda, Angola, had been postponed due to a recent surge in violent attacks across the country.
The spate of attacks includes the killing of Army General Musa Uba in Borno, the abduction of 25 schoolgirls in Kebbi, and a deadly shooting at a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Kwara State.
President Tinubu had vowed that anyone threatening the safety of citizens would face the full force of the law.
In response, Don Jazzy emphasized that the country was not always plagued by such violence and urged the president to take decisive action against the perpetrators.
“The perpetrators deserve no mercy,” he wrote. “There is an urgent need for our armed forces to eliminate every single one of these terrorists. It wasn’t always like this. Terrorism cannot become part of our normal lives. Where are they appearing from and disappearing to? Where is the intelligence?”
He concluded with a direct appeal to the president: “Mr. President, please demand more accountability from your security chiefs. This needs to end now, Sir.”
