Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, has criticised former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, condemning what he described as poor judgment and misplaced priorities during Amaechi’s tenure.

Speaking on Channels Television, Oshiomhole accused Amaechi of making “terrible decisions,” including shutting down the Rivers judiciary to push through a personal appointment.

“Rotimi Amaechi is the most terrible. Look at the choice of language. A man who shut down Rivers’ judiciary because he wanted to appoint his own favourite as the Chief Judge of Rivers State. When he couldn’t get his way, the judiciary was shut down for nearly two years,” Oshiomhole said.

The senator also criticised Amaechi’s handling of the railway system during his eight years in office, claiming that the projects reflected poor prioritisation and were politically motivated.

“Look at the crisis in the railway system he oversaw for eight consecutive years. He failed to set proper priorities, playing to the gallery. Now, he built a rail not to Kano, not to Port Harcourt where he came from, but to Niger Republic.

“Which goods are we sending to Niger Republic? He was a minister, and under President Buhari, anyone appointed had a free hand to do the job assigned to them. That is what Buhari ensured,” Oshiomhole added.
